Long View Qualified to Resell & Implement Vblock Infrastructure Packages

Calgary, AB – July 14, 2010 – Long View Systems today announced it has joined the Vblock partner ecosystem, a community of partners that are qualified to augment, resell, and deliver Vblock™ Infrastructure Packages. These packages are an element of the Virtual Computing Environment coalition formed by Cisco, EMC and VMware. Now Long View can help customers accelerate their plans to implement a private cloud infrastructure based on industry-leading technology and take advantage of the critical IT efficiencies this provides.

Vblock Infrastructure Packages are integrated, tested and validated data center infrastructure offerings that combine best-of-breed virtualization software from VMware, unified networking, security, computing from Cisco, and storage, security and management technologies from EMC – all with end-to-end vendor accountability. Vblock Infrastructure Packages support a broad range of operating systems and applications that enable customers to rapidly migrate existing applications to Vblock infrastructure to accelerate broad-scale data center virtualization.

“We’re tremendously excited to be able to offer our customers a Vblock solution to accelerate their realization of private cloud computing,” said Patrick McGuinty, Long View’s director of business development in Canada. “Long View can now provide its North American clients with end-to-end technical support to optimize their Vblock solution from the Virtual Computing Environment coalition (VCE). Long View is one of the first partners in Western Canada to be part of the Vblock partner ecosystem.”

Long View Systems qualifies for the Vblock partner ecosystem through its investment in technical certifications and partner designations for all of the Cisco, EMC and VMware products that comprise the Vblock Infrastructure Packages. As a Value Added Reseller (VAR) for EMC, and an ASN Implement and Velocity partner, Long View focuses on a range of solutions to create comprehensive coverage and integrated business technology solutions for its clients. Vblock 1delivers performance and virtualization for large or midsized companies and is suitable for data centers of any size, including remote-office locations.

The Vblock Infrastructure Packages were developed by the Virtual Computing Environment coalition, which was formed jointly by Cisco, EMC and VMware. The coalition represents an unprecedented level of collaboration across development, services and partner enablement that helps minimize the risks in the infrastructure virtualization journey of customers to private cloud implementation.
