Innovation, education, and certification: Long View makes CRN Tech Elite 250 list again

CALGARY, Alberta (February 20, 2013) — In the IT world, nothing says credibility like certification. So just consider this another well-earned shot of certification validation.

Long View, one of North America’s foremost providers of IT consulting, outsourcing solutions, and cloud services, is proud to announce that it has once again earned a spot on the annual CRN Tech Elite 250 list.

Now in its third year of existence, the Tech Elite 250 list represents an elite group of North American IT solution providers that have invested significantly to remain on the leading edge of the data center and cloud markets. Long View is once again among this group of far-sighted solution providers that stand out from the crowd — by placing a special emphasis on the training and education required to earn the most advanced technical certifications in the business.

“We are once again humbled by this very significant and prestigious award, but it also validates our commitment to obtaining some of the most difficult certifications from some of the most respected names in IT,” says Kent MacDonald, Long View’s Vice-President of Converged Infrastructure.

“Ultimately, it all comes back to our customers, and the value we add to our relationship with them,” adds MacDonald. “By retaining our spot on the CRN Tech Elite 250, we’re telling our customers that Long View is working hard to deliver premium products, service, and support.”

Editors at CRN worked with the UBM Tech Channel research group, as well as a team of outside experts, to compile this year’s CRN Tech Elite 250 list by defining the most important and consumer-beneficial technical certifications in the IT channel.

The list is based on the level and depth of certifications from industry leaders such as EMC, IBM, Cisco, VMware, Citrix, Microsoft, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Symantec, and NetApp.

CRN editors note that the expertise and certification standards being set by IT vendors are more exacting all the time. But Long View, like other nimble solution providers on the CRN Tech Elite 250 list, sees this trend as an opportunity to gain a competitive advantage — and demonstrate its technological prowess.

Last year, Long View was named to the list by virtue of its 26 certifications in the data center and infrastructure space. This year, that number has grown to 43 — including Cisco Gold, Citrix Platinum, Dell Preferred, EMC VCE Coalition Partner, EMC Velocity Solution Provider, HP Elite, Microsoft Gold, Microsoft Gold Virtualization, NetApp Star, Symantec Gold, and VMware Premier, among many others.

“The 2013 Tech Elite 250 list recognizes an exclusive group of solution providers that have invested in training and technical know-how to help their customers understand the benefits of some of the most sophisticated technology deployments in the market — and have shown a dedication to helping customers innovate while reducing costs,” says Kelley Damore, Senior Vice-President and Editorial Director at UBM Tech Channel.

“By identifying and adapting to the skills and training needed to best serve today’s customers, members of the Tech Elite 250 have proven their commitment to delivering the products and services that today’s customers value most.”
