Hawkings Joins Long View Team as its Chief Information Security Officer

CALGARY, Alberta (June 30, 2014) — Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of IT solutions and services focusing on Hybrid IT methodology, is pleased to announce that it has placed its security practices in the very capable hands of longtime industry professional Garry Hawkings.

After spending more than 20 years developing, deploying, and leading teams dedicated to complex security technology implementations and operations, Hawkings has joined Long View (longviewsystems.com) as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), effective immediately.

Hawkings has worked in numerous industries, serving both public-sector and enterprise customers, and his extensive resume includes executive positions at Canadian telecommunications giants Telus and Bell.

“Garry is a true information security professional with an excellent track record developing strategic business plans, building and managing delivery teams, and ensuring that operational environments meet or exceed security service expectations,” says Robin Bell, Long View’s Chief Technology Officer.

In his new CISO role, Hawkings will be responsible for Long View’s security vision and practice, providing leadership and oversight while co-ordinating the development and management of Long View’s security practice.

He is recognized as a strong leader, team builder, and excellent communicator.
