Energy company enables Teams and modern workplace unified communications and collaboration

Long View helps newly formed energy company to enable Teams and modern workplace unified communications/collaboration

As a result of a November 2018 divestiture, Canada's largest middle-market private equity energy firm with over $3 billion of assets under management, had to implement their IT infrastructure from scratch. The company was facing an extremely tight 5-month start-to-finish timeline in which they needed not only to identify and engage a technology partner but decide whether to invest in on-premises infrastructure or begin again in the cloud. A crucial part of their overall strategy was the goal to enable a modern workplace technology that would allow their teams to work and collaborate more effectively within the framework of a consistent end-user experience.

“Rather than do things the way we always have done in the past, we took the opportunity to modernize our collaboration and productivity platform in the cloud completely. We made this decision after consulting with Long View, who demonstrated that an Azure Cloud-based solution was the best way to complete this project in our tight timeframe, while also leveraging the cost and productivity benefits of the cloud."

In late November, Long View began implementing a cloud-first, mobile-first Modern Workplace solution for the client, that included extending their workforce Unified Collaboration and Communications capabilities through O365 and Teams. By March 1st, 2019 Long View completed the onboarding of 100 users onto Windows 10, Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and Teams.

The new energy company's Cloud Modern Workplace infrastructure went live on April 1st, 2019.

Long View is now set-up to manage fully Collab Now Teams, including:

“As a result of our work with Long View, we’ve managed to set up our entire collaboration and productivity suite in just three months – and it’s running flawlessly.”
