Windows Server 2025 is now generally available. The licensing model will remain the same, however customers will notice a price increase of 10%. You can read about the new features included in this release here. There is now also a PAYG option available through Azure Arc.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Flexible Biling Options Available for Microsoft 365 Copilot
WHEN: December 1, 2024
Starting December 1, 2024, Microsoft 365 Copilot will offer a monthly billing option for annual term subscriptions, including Microsoft 365 Copilot for Sales and Microsoft 365 Copilot for Service. The monthly billing will be priced 5% higher than the annual billing option and will be available through online direct purchasing, CSP, and MCA-E programs.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Price Change for Annual Subscriptions with Monthly Payment Option
WHEN: April 1, 2025
Microsoft is going to change the monthly billing price for all new and renewing subscriptions with an annual commit term, introducing a 5% price update which will apply to the monthly billing plans across online direct purchasing, CSP, and MCA-E programs. Customers who prefer to keep their existing pricing can switch from monthly billing to annual upfront billing at their renewal date.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Price Increase Announced for Teams Phone
WHEN: April 1, 2025
Starting April 1, 2025, Microsoft will update the annual billing price for Teams Phone annual term subscriptions. For new and renewing commercial customers, the price of Teams Phone Standard will be $10 per user per month (USD MSRP). Pricing for Teams Phone for Frontline Workers and Teams Phone with Teams Calling Plan bundles will also be updated. However, there are no pricing changes for customers who purchase Teams Phone through Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5 annual term subscriptions with annual billing.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Price Increase Announced for Power BI Pro and Power BI Premium Per User
WHEN: April 1, 2025
Microsoft will update the pricing for Power BI Pro and Premium Per User (PPU) licenses. The new prices will be USD 14 per user per month for Power BI Pro licenses and USD 24 per user per month for PPU licenses. These increases will apply globally to new and existing commercial customers upon renewal as of April 1, 2025.
WHAT'S HAPPENING: Some EA Customers Will No Longer be Eligible to Renew Under Existing Licensing Framework
WHEN: January 1, 2025
A small percentage of cloud Enterprise Agreements (EA)will no longer be eligible for renewal under the existing EA framework. Affected customers will be notified in January 2025. Customers seeking value-added services and support through a partner should opt for CSP, whereas those preferring a direct purchasing relationship with Microsoft or managing their own per-user purchases should select MCA-E.
