Long View Named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies

We are very proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies.

Calgary, AB – February 21, 2012 – Long View, an IT solutions and services company headquartered in Calgary with offices across North America, has been selected as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies. This national award sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, and Queen’s School of Business is considered by many to be the benchmark for success among Canadian businesses.

“Having the honor of announcing that Long View has been named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies is a not only a joy, but a moment I will cherish as one of the great privileges of my career.” Says Don Bialik, CEO and founder.

What started as five people in 1999 has grown to nearly a thousand in a little more than a decade. The company’s remarkable growth year after year is in large part due to their innovative management practices. In an industry that routinely struggles with a shortage of expertise, Long View has created a culture that not only attracts the best and brightest but is also able to retain them. Coupled with a strong internal culture that prides itself on inventive problem solving, while maintaining a spirit of fun, Long View is a bona fide entrepreneurial success story that still has high hopes for the future.

“My biggest dream for Long View is that it will become a 100-year-old company.” Say Don Bialik. “I believe this is possible. But we have to deserve it. We have to maintain our integrity, keep developing our competencies, adding value to our clients’ businesses, the lives of our staff, and perhaps most importantly, we have to keep having fun.”

“Over the past 18 years, Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies program has recognized the most innovative and Best Managed Companies in Canada. We are delighted to celebrate the accomplishments of Long View,” said John Hughes, Partner, Private Company Services, Deloitte.

The Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies is a national awards program, started in 1993 that recognizes Canadian companies with revenues over $10 million that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.

2011 winners of the Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Best Managed gala in Toronto on March 27, 2012.
