EDMONTON, Alberta (July 27, 2015) — Long View has successfully scored its way into providing vital technology and communications expertise for the Edmonton Oilers’ future home.
Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of Hybrid IT solutions and services, has entered into an exclusive contract with electrical contractor Canem Systems to provide the Cisco-based converged network and VoIP (voice over IP)-based phone system for Rogers Place. The contract came into effect on May 1, and runs through August 2016. The National Hockey League’s Oilers will be moving into their new home arena in time for the 2016/2017 season.
“We’re thrilled to be involved in such an essential element of the future Rogers Place. State-of-the-art technology will be at the heart of game and event presentation, as well as customer service,” says Dave Frederickson, Long View’s Vice President of Sales, Business Development and Marketing. “We’re pleased to be leveraging our hard-earned industry expertise, our invaluable relationships with technology partners, and the dedication and commitment of our Long View team for such an important project for the city of Edmonton.”
Long View has already spent more than two years working with the Oilers, the arena’s video production house Aquila Productions, Cisco, Canem Systems, and the arena’s engineering and general contractor groups to fully understand the technological and communications needs for Rogers Place – which, according to the arena’s website, “will be the most technologically enabled sport facility in all of North America.”
