WHAT'S HAPPENING: Microsoft releases Copilot for Sales and Copilot for Service

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Dynamics 365 Field Service Contractor User Subscription Licenses Available

WHEN: January 1, 2024

Microsoft has added a second type of User SL for Dynamics 365 Field Service:

  • The standard Dynamics 365 Field Service license that includes all core features and capabilities.
  • The Dynamics 365 Field Service Contractor license that includes a subset of the core features and capabilities for third-party technicians.

WHAT'S HAPPENING: New SKU for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Premium Available

WHEN: January 1, 2024

Microsoft has released a new SKU for Dynamics 365 Finance Premium, which provides advanced business performance management capabilities.

There is a minimum purchase requirement of 20 licenses, which can be a combination of both Finance and Finance Premium users. Dynamics 365 Finance Premium also includes 200 electronic invoice and invoice capture transactions per tenant per month and 50,000 AI Builder credits.

 


 

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Changes to “From SA” SKU availability

WHEN: February 1, 2024

Microsoft is no longer going to be allowing customers to order additional or new "From SA" license SKUs. From SA licensing terms will be modified for Microsoft 365 and its standalone products on February 1, 2024, and for Dynamics 365 products on April 1, 2024.

  • Customers won’t be able to order additional or new From SA subscription licenses for Microsoft 365 as of February 1, 2024.
  • Customers won’t be able to order additional or new From SA subscription licenses for Dynamics 365 as of April 1, 2024.

Licenses purchased prior to the licensing change dates will continue to be eligible for renewal in like quantities up to the number of corresponding expiring From SA subscription licenses.

 


 

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Teams Phone for Frontline Workers available

WHEN: February 1, 2024

Microsoft has now made an offer available to provide frontline workers with their own Teams Phone license and phone number as well as access to basic and advanced calling capabilities, through the Teams Phone for Frontline Workers license. This is purchased as an add on to M365 F1 or F3 SKUs and users must meet the same eligibility requirements as these products.

 


 

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Oracle Database@Azure is now generally available

WHEN: December 13, 2023

Oracle Database@Azure is now available in the Azure US East region, with plans to expand to other regions throughout 2024. Oracle is going to build, deploy, and operate a set of Oracle Database Services in Azure, which were previously only available either on premises or in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Initially, this includes Oracle Exadata Database Service and support for Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Data Guard technologies, available through Azure Marketplace.

 


 

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Azure Information Protection Unified Labeling add-in for Office approaching retirement

WHEN: April 11, 2024

Azure Information Protection (AIP) Unified Labeling add-in for Office will be retired in April 2024. Since October 2019, Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise has been building the same functionality into the applications and expanding sensitivity labels. Microsoft recommends using the labelling that is now build into the Office applications as replacement.

 


 

WHAT'S HAPPENING: Azure support plan promotion extended

WHEN: June 30, 2024

The offer for new and renewing Azure customers who purchase under a Microsoft EA, EES, or MCA agreement to receive one year of free Azure Standard Support has been extended through June 30, 2024. Additional terms and conditions are viewable here.
