The Great American Water Balloon Fight (with Team Tassy)
June 3, 2014
Long View has always been a socially conscious company, caring about our communities and many great causes. Simply put – Long View Cares. To help give back, the Long View Denver Branch is hosting “The Great American Water Balloon Fight” to benefit the charitable organization – Team Tassy (www.teamtassy.org). Team Tassy knows that giving back can also bring joy, which is right in line with Long View’s fourth pillar, fun. What better way to give back, then to hold a giant water balloon fight!
On July 26th at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, located in Commerce City, Colorado, hundreds of participants in the GAWBF will be divided up into teams, and will unleash fifty thousand water balloons at each other! Audience members can also purchase buckets of water balloons, and join the action as well. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, and celebrities. Join the fight against global poverty!
Long View team members first encountered the Team Tassy organization on our 2012 trip to Haiti. Team Tassy has been working in Haiti since 2010 and their mission is to “…do whatever it takes to unleash the inherent power in every person to eliminate global poverty”. They believe that the answer to poverty is creating dignified jobs, so that the Haitian people can support themselves and families. There is the story of Marc Noel, who had been unemployed for several years and was given a job via Team Tassy! That very first night, Marc came home and told his family “tonight we eat!!” It is hundreds of stories like this that motivate Team Tassy in their fight to eliminate global poverty.
