Calgary, AB – August 4, 2009 – Long View Systems (Long View) has been named one of Calgary’s best places to work in 2009 by Avenue Magazine, annual publisher of one of Calgary’s most comprehensive employment surveys.
The magazine, in collaboration with a third party research firm, Leger Marketing, selected winning entries based on their strengths in leadership, corporate culture and vision, corporate responsibility, employee benefits and corporate reputation. Nominations were made via an online survey conducted by Avenue sister publication CalgaryInc. and this year’s 13 winners are celebrated in the August 2009 issue of Avenue Magazine and on www.avenuecalgary.com.
Despite the tumultuous economic conditions of the past several months, employees surveyed reported valuing different aspects of their work environment as more important to them this year, and perks as slightly less important. Fairness and respect have consistently been ranked by employees as the most important attributes in a workplace, a reality not lost on the executives at Long View.

More than 800 employees from more than 100 companies filled out the extensive survey. In order to qualify, each company had to have at least five surveys completed by their own employees. The 53 shortlisted companies were then ranked based on a series of rating and scaling questions that focused on eight areas:

- Leadership
- Corporate and workplace culture
- Workplace diversity and level of personal expression
- Corporate reputation
- Employee perks, benefits and opportunities for growth
- Work/life balance
- Corporate responsibility
