On Tuesday April 7, 2015, Long View was recognized as one of Colorado’s Top Workplaces by the Denver Post. The fourth Annual Top Workplaces Awards saluted 140 businesses at the beautiful Seawell Grand Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for their leadership, flexibility, compensation, benefits and more.
I attended the event with a few individuals from our People Services and Sales team; we were treated to an evening of hors d’oeuvres and cocktails along with entertainment from a live band. The awards ceremony was hosted by Mac Tully, the President and CEO of the Denver Post, along with Workplace Dynamics, the research firm that conducts workplace surveys in more than 30 American markets. The surveys that Workplace Dynamics use are simple, consisting of only 22 questions, and they measure engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. Unlike other surveys and Best Places to Work type awards, this award is based solely on the feedback and responses of employees. It is broken down into three categories based on company size by number of local employees. There were 1,400 organizations invited to submit their surveys from which 100 were selected as the finalists for the Top Workplaces honors. Long View was selected amongst the top 35 workplaces in the Midsize group. The top three from each group were announced with the company in top spot taking the stage to accept their “trophy” after a dazzling display of pizazz by a dance troupe togged out in their best workplace attire. It was truly inspirational, so much so that we will be now incorporating dance classes into our Consultant Development Program curriculum in the Denver branch.
We understand and value the importance of our employees satisfaction at Long View, as it is what our company is founded on – people. It’s great to get a plaque and be recognized for being a top work place in Denver. It’s of greater value to learn that our employees really appreciate our culture. Our employees are important and that’s why we’ll continue be part of programs like this to monitor our employees’ satisfaction and to value their feedback. We are honored to have been recognized for this achievement and will use it as the many benchmarks as we strive to be a place where people grow their careers and live healthy lives.
