CALGARY, Alberta and DENVER, Colorado (August 7, 2014) — Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of Hybrid IT solutions and services, is pleased to announce a suite of organizational leadership appointments in key focus areas such as sales, licensing, and business development.
“It is my distinct pleasure to make these four announcements, which are critical to continuing our rapid growth and innovation in the strategic focus areas of our company,” says Long View Chief Executive Officer Gord Mawhinney.
Dave Frederickson will assume executive responsibility for sales as Long View’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development, effective Aug. 5. Frederickson joined Long View (longviewsystems.com) in November 2012, after holding influential national roles and building a sales leadership career of more than 20 years at HP Canada.
Frederickson was Vice President and General Manager of HP Canada’s Enterprise Servers, Storage, and Networking Group from 2009 through 2012, after serving in numerous sales and channel related roles over his 22 year tenure.
Frederickson has been recognized numerous times by Computer Dealer News (CDN) as its top newsmaker of the year. Since joining Long View, he has been instrumental in establishing the foundation of Long View’s Toronto branch.
“Dave has done an exemplary job with the Business Development team at Long View, and building the foundation of our Toronto branch,” says Mawhinney. “Dave has considerable experience, as well as a solid understanding of sales in our industry on both sides of the border.”
In a related move, also effective Aug. 5, Andrew Bentley will assume the role of General Manager of Sales, North America, reporting directly to Frederickson. Bentley will now lead sales on a day to day basis at Long View across North America, adding the US to his already existing Canadian portfolio.
“Andrew is a proven and exceptional leader within our sales organization,” notes Mawhinney, “with the people he has led producing outstanding results year after year.”
Bentley has been Sales Director, Canada at Long View for the past several years, focusing specifically on enterprise clients, and has worked previously with such companies as Microsoft and IBM.
Meanwhile, Alastair Woolcock will take responsibility for Strategic Business Solutions (SBS) at Long View, filling the role of General Manager, SBS North America, effective Aug. 5.
“The Strategic Business Solutions division is critical to our success as a transformational and strategic partner for our customers,” says Mawhinney. “Alastair has demonstrated strong strategic capability on SBS in the US, and now he extends that focus into Canada.”
Finally, Kevin Crowe will add licensing to his portfolio as Long View’s Vice President of Procurement and Licensing, effective Sept. 1.
“Licensing is the fastest-growing division of Long View today,” remarks Mawhinney. “Bringing both ‘product-focused’ organizations together will allow for synergies between the two groups, while also allowing Kevin to ensure that they both have the leadership and the unique focus they require.”
In all four instances, adds Mawhinney, “we are absolutely certain that we have the right long-term leaders in place — to help move our company forward, and continue authoring the North American success story that is Long View.”
