CALGARY, Alberta (November 14, 2012) — Effective immediately, Dave Frederickson, one of the most experienced and respected executives in the Canadian IT industry, is joining Long View as Vice-President of Business Development.
Frederickson spent 24 successful years at HP Canada holding key national roles, his most recent as VP & GM of Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking for Canada. Now in his new executive role as Long View’s National VP Business Development, one of Dave’s first initiatives will be to oversee the launch of Long View’s Toronto Branch in early 2013!
“This is a great day for Long View. There are only a handful of people who have earned the level of respect that Dave has achieved as an important member of the IT Industry! Dave is one of the brightest, most innovative, and highly respected minds in the business.” says Gord Mawhinney, President of Long View (Long View Systems).
With Frederickson at the helm from January 2009 through July 2012, HP Canada’s Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking Group experienced consistent growth across all lines of business and enjoyed its best financial year in history in 2011.
Frederickson also took on parallel responsibility as CMO and held positions within HP Canada as its Vice-President of the HP Solution Partners Organization (2004 to 2008), Director of its Industry Standard Server division (2002 to 2004), and Canadian Marketing Manager for HP’s Computer Systems division (1999 to 2002). Frederickson was recognized numerous times by Computer Dealer News (CDN) as top newsmaker of the year.
“I’ve been aware of Long View for more than 10 years, and I’ve always been impressed with its ability to connect with its customers’ needs — not just in the near-term but also qualifying future trends — while bringing together the best people in the industry to craft those customer solutions,” says Frederickson.
“I wanted to be part of an organization that has differentiation in the market. I also wanted to work in a culture where employees are duly recognized and rewarded, people are at the heart of decision-making and investment, and work-life balance is paramount,” adds Frederickson. “After an extensive analysis, I feel Long View is a special place . . . and the best fit for me.”
“I’m excited about helping Long View continue along its path of consistent growth, and creating a strong presence for Long View nationally across Canada. I’m ready to have fun — and make a valuable contribution.”
