Long View earns laurels from Microsoft Licensing with Platinum Level Operational Excellence Award

October 24, 2012
CALGARY, Alberta (October 24, 2012) — There are all kinds of licenses out there . . . a license to drive, a license to fly, a license to fish, even 007’s license for that nasty bit of business. When it comes to Microsoft Licensing, Long View now has even more proof that it is a true industry leader in managing its clients’ software compliance, assets, and needs. Long View (longviewsystems.com), one of North America’s most dynamic providers of IT consulting, outsourcing solutions, and cloud services, is pleased to announce that it has won the 2012 Microsoft Licensing Platinum Level Operational Excellence Award. Chosen from a continental field of top Microsoft partners for delivering market-leading operational excellence in supporting Microsoft technology, Long View will receive the accolade from Microsoft at the FY13 Roundtables Conference award ceremony in November 2012. “Winning this award demonstrates Long View’s commitment to producing best-in-class licensing solutions,” says Sarah Morreau, Long View’s Director for Licensing and Contract Management. “We are honoured to accept this award, and would like to thank both our valued customers and Microsoft.” Long View’s Microsoft Licensing team strives for continual excellence by optimizing its clients’ existing software investments, and deploying best practices in software use, procurement, deployment, and financial investment. Not only does Long View have trusted Large Account Reseller (LAR) status with Microsoft — it has also been a multiple-time winner of a Microsoft LAR Partner of the Year award, and has previously been recognized by Microsoft for Operational Excellence. Winners of 2012 Microsoft Licensing Platinum Level Operational Excellence Awards were chosen from a pool of more than 30 entrants in Canada and the U.S. Long View was recognized for superior operational excellence, and meeting or exceeding specific requirements for the number of valid agreements in a variety of categories, as well as the number of on-time and valid order submissions and revenue reconciliation. Platinum Level winners demonstrated their ability to collaboratively influence performance metrics not completely under their control, and were able to drive outstanding performance in their organization’s adoption of key initiatives. By meeting these operational criteria, these Platinum Level winners have illustrated their commitment to providing value and superior customer satisfaction. “Only by aligning our efforts, and strengthening our partnerships with outstanding companies such as these, is Microsoft able to offer continued quality products and services to our customers,” says Hugh Aitken, General Manager of Microsoft’s Commercial Operations. “Congratulations to this year’s winners for their commitment to performance excellence.” Microsoft Licensing Operational Excellence Awards recognize Microsoft Partners that have developed and delivered operational excellence over the past year.   ABOUT LONG VIEW: Long View is one of the most powerful IT solutions and services companies in North America with offices across the continent. Long View encourages Canadian business community to get its head in the cloud

October 10, 2012
CALGARY, Alberta (October 10, 2012) — The potential forecast from some of Canada’s most influential entrepreneurs? Cloudy, with a chance of brilliance. Long View’s Kevin Crowe couldn’t agree more. The Canadian Cloud Council recently announced that its third national cloud conference, Cloud Matters, will be held from March 11 to 13, 2013 at the Rimrock Resort in Banff, Alta. Organizers of Cloud Matters promise to deliver a “thought-provoking and revolutionary event” focused on building a stronger and more commercial cloud ecosystem in Canada. Long View (longviewsystems.com), one of North America’s most dynamic providers of IT consulting, outsourcing solutions, and Cloud services, is a platinum sponsor of Cloud Matters, and will be among the presenters at this prominent spring IT gathering in the Rockies. “We feel this is a very important subject, because Canada has the capability of being a global leader in the area of technology innovation. Cloud adoption is key for Canada to stay competitive,” says Crowe, Long View’s Director of Cloud Services. “We are seeing a large demand by our client base for cloud solutions to their business issues. CIOs, CFOs, and CEOs are asking Long View to continue to drive business agility for them via cloud solutions. “Cloud is one of the fastest-growing areas of our business,” adds Crowe, “and we’re seeing huge benefits and return on investment for clients that have been transformed via cloud solutions.” Robert Herjavec, CEO of Herjavec Group and a regular on CBC’s Dragon’s Den and ABC’s Shark Tank television programs will make the opening presentation at Cloud Matters. Herjavec doesn’t mince words in assessing Canada’s potential for leadership — and lack of execution to date — with respect to cloud computing. “Canada has the capability of being a global leader in the areas of technology innovation and commercialization. With our expansive and resilient network infrastructure, inexpensive green energy, and agile and prosperous business environment, we should be excelling in the field of cloud computing. Right now, we are not,” says Herjavec. “Canadian ICT (information and communications technology) policymakers, CIOs, investors, and consumers need to take a more open, assertive, and unified approach to cloud commercialization and global export,” he adds. “I look forward to participating in such a critical initiative, and helping to ensure that Canadians harness our incredible potential in the area of cloud computing.” Dr. Tom Keenan, a professor in the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Environmental Design and Computer Science, will act as Master of Ceremonies for Cloud Matters. Other presentations will be made by Jeff Barr, senior director at Amazon Web Services’ Cloud Computing; Chris C. Kemp, CEO of Nebula and co-founder of Open Stack; David Morhart, the Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Advanced Education with Alberta’s provincial government; Chris Moore, the CIO of the City of Edmonton; and Doug Hodgson, the Chief Information and Technology Officer with the City of Calgary.   ABOUT LONG VIEW: Long View is one of the most powerful IT solutions and services companies in North America with offices across the continent. Long View Achieves Cisco Master Unified Communications Specialization

October 2, 2012
CALGARY, Alberta (September 27, 2012) — Long View announced today it has achieved the Master Unified Communications Specialization from Cisco®.  This specialization recognizes Long View as having fulfilled the training requirements and program prerequisites to sell, deploy and support highly sophisticated applications-based Cisco Unified Communications solutions. “At Long View, we strive to ensure our clients enjoy collaboration that’s comprehensive, effective, and meaningful,” says Kent MacDonald, Long View’s Vice-President of Converged Infrastructure. “Frankly, we’re tickled at achieving Master Unified Communications Specialization from a global frontrunner like Cisco. It’s a ringing endorsement of our sales, technical, and service competencies and capabilities.” “To help turn the promise of unified communications into a strategic advantage, customers are demanding an enhanced set of skills and capabilities from channel partners,” says Richard McLeod, Cisco’s director of unified communications for worldwide channels at Cisco. “Long View’s investment in the Master Unified Communications Specialization ranks them among the industry’s elite.” To achieve the Master Unified Communications Specialization, resale channel partners must first attain advanced Unified Communications Specialization. Partners must then meet stringent requirements that demonstrate their master-level sales, technical, and services capabilities.  Furthermore, master specialized partners must possess a number of Cisco and industry-standard technical certification requirements, provide customer references that document Cisco-prescribed design and deployment capabilities; and show evidence that they have the infrastructure to support a full menu of Lifecycle Services offerings and capabilities. The Cisco Resale Channel Program provides partners with the training required to build sales, technical and Cisco Lifecycle Services skills, and then validates their skills through a third-party audit.  Cisco resale partner certifications—Select, Premier, Silver and Gold—represent an increasing breadth of skills across key technologies and a partner’s ability to deliver integrated networking solutions.  Cisco resale partner specializations—SMB, Express, Advanced and Master—reflect an increasing depth of sales, technical and service expertise in particular technologies.  Cisco master specializations provide Long View access to comprehensive sales, technical, and lifecycle services training and support available from Cisco. 1E Partners with Long View Systems in North America

April 2, 2012
NEW YORK, Mar 28, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 1E, the global leader in IT Efficiency software, today announced a new distribution and services relationship with Long View Systems in North America. The relationship validates 1E’s commitment to maximizing joint customers’ existing investments in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr). Long View has a unique Windows 7 deployment offering called Windows® 7 Program Office. As part of the Program Office, Long View offers organizations in North America a readiness assessment, which gives a high-level understanding of existing Windows Operating System (OS) environments and identifies the best architectural path forward, reducing the risks associated with an OS migration. In turn, 1E offers a number of solutions to simplify OS deployments and migrations: -- Self-service OS deployment tool Shopping™ is being selected by customers who need near real-time installations and want to minimize requests to the IT helpdesk, saving $40 on average per request. The IT department maintains the control, but this approach gives users the freedom and flexibility to schedule their own Windows 7 migration at a time that suits them, as well as selecting which applications they want to migrate over to the new OS. -- WAN optimization tool, Nomad Enterprise® from 1E safely and securely delivers OS images across the WAN to thousands of PCs and servers day or night. It does this without the need for branch servers or desk-side visits, which enables cost savings through server consolidation and reduced administrative overheads. “Windows 7 uptake in the business community is today one of the highest profile and most challenging IT projects for organizations,” says Sumir Karayi, CEO, 1E. “Deployment across large, distributed organizations can be a long, complex process and an expensive task, given the frequency and size of OS and software updates. Our strong relationship with Long View will simplify that challenge for companies and provide significant cost and time savings.” “Understanding the principles and best practices of a successful Windows 7 deployment helps IT departments save time, save money, and most importantly, improve overall business productivity of their user community,” comments Paul Krowchuk, North American Practice Director, Microsoft Services at Long View. “We are pleased to forge this relationship with 1E. Together, we have a powerful range of solutions that can help our joint customers reduce the risks and cost of an OS deployment. 1E solutions have added significant value and differentiation to our Windows 7 deployment capabilities,” adds Krowchuk. Long View is also looking to incorporate 1E’s Efficient IT solutions into its software asset management and license optimization projects in the cloud. AppClarity™ analyses all software applications in an enterprise environment and immediately identifies and accurately quantifies software waste. It presents a rationalized inventory of installed applications, license costs and where installations are unused, giving customers the information they need to automatically reclaim and recycle unused software assets. “Developing our managed licensing offering, SYNC is a major focus in 2012 and beyond. We believe that 1E adds significant value here with AppClarity. Giving organizations the data they need to better prepare them for a software license audit is a valuable proposition for our customers,” concludes Krowchuk.
