Long View rises to No. 5 overall on CDN Top 100 Solution Providers index

April 20, 2015
CALGARY, Alberta (April 20, 2015) — Innovation and commitment are key ingredients on this year’s CDN Top 100 Solution Providers list . . . and they’re also hallmarks of Long View’s continuing success. Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of Hybrid IT solutions and services, has risen to No. 5 overall on the CDN Top 100 Solution Providers of 2014 index. This marks the first time Long View (longviewsystems.com) has cracked the top five on this annual ranking of Canada’s information technology industry players, after holding steady at No 7 for the previous three years. The CDN Top 100 Solution Providers list is compiled by Computer Dealer News and research partner IDC Canada, and based on the yearly revenue of Canada’s top IT channel partners. “To be ranked Top Five on an industry benchmark like the CDN Top 100 Solution Providers is a very rewarding achievement,” says Gord Mawhinney, Long View’s Chief Executive Officer. “It clearly indicates that we’re successfully leveraging our industry experience, our successful track record, our invaluable relationships with technology partners, and our dedicated employees as we evolve into a dominant player in the Canadian — and the Western North American — IT market.” As part of the CDN Top 100 Solution Providers list, Long View reported a revenue range of $325-million to $350-million in 2014. To be eligible for the CDN Top 100 Solution Providers ranking, companies must source products from a leading distributor in Canada, and possess a minimum of one certification or authorization from an IT vendor. Overall ranking is based on total 2014 Canadian revenue generated in Canada. This year’s CDN Top 100 Solution Providers list was announced during the annual Top 100 Awards Gala on April 15 in Toronto. “The CDN Top 100 Solution Providers is a tough list to get on and to stay on . . . it demonstrates the great resolve of these Canadian entrepreneurs and the true innovation being developed by this community,” says Paolo Del Nibletto, Associate Publisher and Editor of Computer Dealer News (CDN), Canada’s No. 1 IT channel publication and website. According to data generated by Computer Dealer News and IDC Canada, total Canadian revenues posted by Top 100 solution providers grew by five per cent in 2014, from $6.4-billion to $6.7-billion — a notable jump from the two-per-cent increase turned in last year. Long View hits ‘gold standard’ with fourth straight year among Canada’s Best Managed Companies

March 10, 2015
CALGARY, Alberta (March 10, 2015) — After years of success with Canada’s pre-eminent business awards program, Long View has struck gold. Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of Hybrid IT solutions and services, is thrilled to announce that it is now a Gold Standard member of the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies index. This honor is bestowed upon companies that retain their Canada’s Best Managed Companies status for four consecutive years, and Long View was named among that prestigious group. Established in 1993, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is the country’s leading business awards program, recognizing excellence in Canadian owned and managed companies. Long View first made the grade in this national competition, sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums, in 2011. “Earning a place among Canada’s Best Managed Companies for four straight years is a very rare distinction, and an achievement that makes us very proud,” says Gord Mawhinney, Long View’s Chief Executive Officer. “Keeping a spot on this national index is becoming more challenging every year. This competition is constantly raising the bar, in terms of demands and expectations,” adds Mawhinney. “This award is something all of our employees and partners can take great pride in, because it’s their innovation, inspiration, and dedication to customer service that has allowed us to make the grade again.” Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial-spirited companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the caliber of their management abilities and practices. The Canada’s Best Managed Companies index recognizes overall business performances and sustained growth, and considers factors such as long-term strategy, core competencies, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). In short, the Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation symbolizes Canadian corporate success — a focus on core vision, creation of stakeholder value, and excellence in the global economy. The winners for 2014 will be honored on March 31 during the Canada’s Best Managed Companies symposium and gala in Toronto. Long View Announces Key Leadership Appointments in Sales, Licensing, Business Development

August 7, 2014
CALGARY, Alberta and DENVER, Colorado (August 7, 2014) — Long View, one of North America’s most powerful providers of Hybrid IT solutions and services, is pleased to announce a suite of organizational leadership appointments in key focus areas such as sales, licensing, and business development. “It is my distinct pleasure to make these four announcements, which are critical to continuing our rapid growth and innovation in the strategic focus areas of our company,” says Long View Chief Executive Officer Gord Mawhinney. Dave Frederickson will assume executive responsibility for sales as Long View’s Vice President of Sales and Business Development, effective Aug. 5. Frederickson joined Long View (longviewsystems.com) in November 2012, after holding influential national roles and building a sales leadership career of more than 20 years at HP Canada. Frederickson was Vice President and General Manager of HP Canada’s Enterprise Servers, Storage, and Networking Group from 2009 through 2012, after serving in numerous sales and channel related roles over his 22 year tenure. Frederickson has been recognized numerous times by Computer Dealer News (CDN) as its top newsmaker of the year. Since joining Long View, he has been instrumental in establishing the foundation of Long View’s Toronto branch. “Dave has done an exemplary job with the Business Development team at Long View, and building the foundation of our Toronto branch,” says Mawhinney. “Dave has considerable experience, as well as a solid understanding of sales in our industry on both sides of the border.” In a related move, also effective Aug. 5, Andrew Bentley will assume the role of General Manager of Sales, North America, reporting directly to Frederickson. Bentley will now lead sales on a day to day basis at Long View across North America, adding the US to his already existing Canadian portfolio. “Andrew is a proven and exceptional leader within our sales organization,” notes Mawhinney, “with the people he has led producing outstanding results year after year.” Bentley has been Sales Director, Canada at Long View for the past several years, focusing specifically on enterprise clients, and has worked previously with such companies as Microsoft and IBM. Meanwhile, Alastair Woolcock will take responsibility for Strategic Business Solutions (SBS) at Long View, filling the role of General Manager, SBS North America, effective Aug. 5. “The Strategic Business Solutions division is critical to our success as a transformational and strategic partner for our customers,” says Mawhinney. “Alastair has demonstrated strong strategic capability on SBS in the US, and now he extends that focus into Canada.” Finally, Kevin Crowe will add licensing to his portfolio as Long View’s Vice President of Procurement and Licensing, effective Sept. 1. “Licensing is the fastest-growing division of Long View today,” remarks Mawhinney. “Bringing both ‘product-focused’ organizations together will allow for synergies between the two groups, while also allowing Kevin to ensure that they both have the leadership and the unique focus they require.” In all four instances, adds Mawhinney, “we are absolutely certain that we have the right long-term leaders in place — to help move our company forward, and continue authoring the North American success story that is Long View.”   ABOUT LONG VIEW: Long View is one of the most powerful IT solutions and services companies in North America, with offices across the continent.
